Arnold Du Plessis
After matriculating at Pietersburg Hoer Handelskool in Pietersburg in 1971 and completed one Year compulsory Citizen Force training in 1972, I join my late Father’s motor business Boerebenodighede now known as BB Auto in the then known as Pietersburg (Datsun passenger and light commercial vehicles and Magnus Heavy vehicles) in 1973.
On 7th April 1977 our company acquired the Datsun Franchise in Tzaneen and my Father appointed me to start up the business Boerebenodighede Tzaneen, which I managed until 1980 where-after I was appointed as Managing Director of the Business and relocated to Pietersburg.
I concentrated on our Heavy Vehicle division (UD, Iveco and Samil Samag) during the late 1980’s and 1990’s, we were awarded the National Dealer of the Year awards for several years during that period.
In 1999 we change the name of the company to BB Auto to accommodate all the different franchises.
We have expanded the business from two dealerships (Pietersburg and Tzaneen) to curently 33 dealerships in the Group. The dealerships are spread over the Limpopo Province in Polokwane (Pietersburg), Tzaneen, Makado (Louis Trichardt) and Mokopane (Potgietersrus) as well as Pretoria in Gauteng province and Middelburg in Mpumalanga province and currently employing more than 1000 staff members.
